Monday and Tuesday of last week I sent Matthew to school. He was fine. He came home Tuesday looking really bad. I asked him what was wrong he said "I am tired." So I told him to lay down. He then told me he was hungry so I made him something to eat. Then he wasn't hungry.
Fox the cat jumped up on Matt's bed and scratched his face. Matt was crying so I went into his room to check on him. He was burning up. So I had Joe bring him out into the front room so I could take his temp. It was 104.8 . I called his doctor and they to me to get him to the ER. So I rush him there. They did a Strep test which was positive. They gave him meds and sent him home.
Wednesday I took both him and Hunter into their regular Doctors office. Hunter had an ear infection and Strep. They never actually tested Hunter just assumed he had it. Because Matt did.
Thursday I was back in the ER with Matt having 105 fever. They treated me like crap. They said to me that with strep you can run fevers up to 105. I told them with the many times Matt has had Strep he has never been over 102. They gave him a shot of antibiotic and sent him home. Thursday night he got me up three times in the night with high fevers.
I have been treating him with Motrin and Tylenol. And giving him the antibiotics as the doctors said to. I was to bring Matt back to the ER for another shot of antibiotics Friday.
Friday I called his normal Doctor and told them what the ER said about the fevers. They told me to get him back to the ER and demand a new Eval. So I did.At 3pm. They gave me attitude when I showed back up. They were going to send him through the Urgent Care I told them No I want him seen in the ER. She said meanly that will be a 2 hour wait I said fine. We waited an hour.
We finally get back there and he gets a doctor. They hook him up to an IV and draw blood. Then had to come back for more blood. They give him more antibiotic. He is running a fever while we are waiting. Then at 7:30 pm they come in and tell me they are calling in a pediatric Doctor cause they have no ideal what is wrong. Matt has been sleeping almost the whole time we are there.
About 8:30pm he shows up.Dr Sackman. He comes into the room and tells me he already knows what is wrong with Matt just by looking at his lips. Matt has Blisters all over his lips. He called it Herpangina. It is a viral infection of the tonsils. The Doctor who saw him Thursday comes into the room. He shows her the inside of Matt's mouth and tells her what it is. None of us but Dr Sackman has ever heard of it. I started crying because I am not the crazy mother they made me to feel I was. I knew something else was going on. They wouldn't listen to me.
Dr Sackman said He told they not to give him antibiotics because it makes it worse. To late they had been pumping him full of them. I am to bring him and Hunter into his office Monday to be rechecked and seen. Cause this is deadly in baby's. The only treatment is rest fever medications and lidocaine for his lips. No milk,No juice no sugary things. Lots of water, and whatever he wants to eat.
So today I am once again taken my kids to a doctors office to be seen. I knew he was sick. Why do doctors think they know everything. He is my kid I know when something isn't right for him. I am with him 24-7 they see him for 10 minutes and think they know all.
Enough For Now.

Thank You.

My son insurance covered it all. Thank God.
I am so sorry about your mother. I pray she is much better now.
They need to understand us moms know when something isn't right with our children.
